TPAPT Self Study Club
A methodology based on research and pragmatism
Traditional test preparation typically starts with lessons, adds in question practice, and then finishes with mock testing. We've taken that model and flipped it. That is to say...we've taken a Flipped Learning approach to our curriculum and programs.
We believe today's learners process information more quickly and more effectively due to their degree of digital literacy, curiosity, and openness to learning in general. Our process starts with a diagnostic assessment and a detailed score analysis that can help students prioritize studying or target tough areas through the aid of a tutor.
We rely heavily on what is known as the "Testing Effect." In this context, Testing Effect basically means that each time we take a test, we build familiarity with the content. The next time we see the same type of test, our scores tend to increase.
So we provide the tests along with powerful analytics which students can use to inform their SAT or ACT test prep study plan.
From there, we have a small but mighty suite of classes and workshops the results from which have been tested and quantified through student cohort data.
If it turns out that paid test prep is part of the study plan, it now becomes both targeted and more efficient given the analytics available to the student. We believe this efficiency is helpful to both student and tutor.
